Episode 12 – A Wing and a Prayer

The episode begins as it always has, and it always will. We discuss episode 7 of the new anime series where we finally decide we can dig Killua’s portrayal this time around, even though we still have some nitpicks. The chapter review is of the conclusion of the Heavens Arena, chapters 61-63, and lastly we get more of the Zoldycks and their beautiful dysfunction in Chapter 324.

We discuss some info a fan passed to us regarding the licensing of the new series and Hunter X Hunter’s horrible position in Weekly Shounen Jump.

I wish I had some PSA or “A very Special Episode” type music for the last segment. And you’ll only know why if you listen to the end. That’s a horrible tease I know, and I’m not sorry.

Episode 11.55 – I hope nobody out there is a Milluki fan

By the by, no I do not remember what Bullet Beast was talking about at the very beginning of this segment but it sounds funny so I left it in.

Episode 11 – Menchi doesn’t even eat pork

Bullet Beast accurately predicts Alluka’s ability as we know it so far in chapter 323 by comparing him/her to Neon Nostrade and her (former) Ghostwriter ability.

By the way, this episode has very minimal editing, but there shouldn’t be any major issues. We also take some time to talk about our disappointments with some directorial choices in the anime series so far, namely the censorship and the damage to Killua’s character as it stands 5 episodes in. We talk a bit about some other mature series MADHOUSE has handled lately, namely the Hellsing OVAs (itself a truer to the manga adaptation rather than the TV series like Hunter X Hunter 2011) and mention Black Lagoon in passing.

Episode 10 – Gliding into a Shoryuken

Episode 9 – Boy or Girl?

Episode 7 – Not Working

So yeah, episode 7 had JWHoof’s first appearance after trying to be on the show since we first started taking guests. Except then his power went off, so byebye to him. Then my recorder (or Skype) suddenly it didn’t care anymore about who spoke first and was recording things out of order. Thankfully that problem only persisted for the first half of the show and I managed to nip most of it in the bud. So if things sound weird, I apologize profusely, I’m still quite new to this.

Episode 6 – So, Discussion?
