Okay, I LOLed at the “I’m your man” line, which I didn’t do when I actually read it, so it’s still thumbs up for the HxH amateur dramatics society. Now I just want to hear you guys get through the Hisoka/Castro fight without throwing up.
Best episode so far, imo. Fun was had.

A good episode, I found your talk about Killua’s brother pretty funny knowing what we know now. I know you guys were talking about Hisoka not voting but he could have used his texture to hide his vote as some master plan.
October 23, 2011 at 4:39 pm
Agreed. Kvetching about what might happen in the next chapter of the manga should be a regular segment on the show. Especially if it’s going to produce such comedy gold as Gangsta Kurapica.
(btw, if you guys still want to put out a hit on me, my brother’ll do it for a twinkie)

Just in case you get to chapter 53 in the manga….who wants to see a happy clown enjoying a snack ?
Doesn’t get more Hisoka than this.
If the new anime gets this far, we’ll finally see if they were serious about being “more like the manga” , because ep 41 of the old show fast-forwards through this chapter so fast, it’s like somebody just remembered kids would be watching this.
That screenshot is literally all you get to see, so not having read the manga at that point, I was understandably a little confused.
“Hey, what’s he eating ? Can I have some ? Should he really be having a snack now that guy just chopped off his a…OMYGODHOLYCRAP !”

Anyhoo, it’s been mentioned, but this was a really good show.
Having HxH virgin Funkatron on as a guest host worked really well. I hope he keeps watching and realizes that HxH is an island of awesome in a sea of mediocrity, and should therefore not be compared to other stuff.
Also…
_Senritsu is girl, woman, female thing.
_Only other person I spotted was Kurapica’s sensei.
_If that really is Ace, it’s probably one of Togashi’s assistants, very subtly applying for a better paying gig.
Have a good one 2morrow. 🙂

re 321 : I hate to make predictions, but some really bad shit is going to happen, and I can’t wait to see what it is.
re ep 4 : I’m re-watching the old show, so I’m not ready yet to accept the new Killua, but yeah, maybe……Could have been worse, I guess.
The Good : The “I’m a teenager” moment. Nice comic timing. Gon staring Leorio back into action, and Leorio’s expression when Kurapica hits upon his true motivations.
The Bad : Hisoka needs to shut the fuck up. Nope, I’m just not having this.
The Ugly : Nicolas. Jesus, kid, wipe your nose on your sleeve or something.

LOL I feel so bad because he’s the most accomplished voice actor of the bunch, but just no, that’s not Hisoka. I’m hoping that things get better as they go on, but I’m wary.

Just wanted to share you an image I found where a couple of HxH fans have researched the names of each hunters shown before Hisoka made his grand entrance.
Ja, na~

hmm ty for that
October 27, 2011 at 6:04 pm
322 seems to be up.
Only 3 pages right now, but wtfffffffffffff ?
Is this some giant grammatical fuck-up with Japanese personal pronouns, or has Togashi been foreshadowing this all along ?
October 27, 2011 at 6:31 pm
You’re looking at anime take, aren’t you ? I’ll mail you the full chapter (20pages)
And forget about gender. This is the most awesomely fucked up nen-power yet.
Killua is really starting to outshine Gon as the hero now.

Thanks for the link !
Still…I don’t get it. So Illumi was lying ? Why would he bother ?
@foxy : don’t worry about audio quality too much. We’re gonna listen to it anyways.
October 27, 2011 at 7:44 pm
Lol, yeah spoilers ! : Illumi’s a lying sob.
And yes, @personwhoeditsthepodcast : don’t beat yourself up about it.

I don’t know I’ve seen “brother” so many times from Kalluto, Killua, and Illumi that I’m willing to bet it is a fuckup. Kikyou obviously desperately wants a daughter, but it’d explain Kalluto if Alluka was a girl. For know I’m going with he until proven otherwise.
Thanks for the kind words guys, I’ll try and push forward with editing tomorrow.
October 28, 2011 at 8:38 am
Well, Hunter-pedia is sticking with “him” as well. Either way, the explanation is going to get a little tricky.
Btw, are you using Audacity ? I hear that can be a bitch sometimes. Anyways, no worries. If it doesn’t work out, we’ll just call it the legendary lost episode.
October 28, 2011 at 8:45 am
Yeah, I am using audacity. What about Kalluto’s reference, whenever the hell that was? I mean, if it’s a girl, so be it. Would be surprising to have a girl be instantly one of the most powerful beings in such a male dominated universe.
October 28, 2011 at 2:15 am
A thought about the confusing pronouns… Maybe their mother really wants a daughter and “wish” it? Among the Z-children, Alluka seems to be the girliest. One panel shows that s/he’s playing with a doll house.
October 28, 2011 at 8:25 am
Well, it’s not just the pronouns. I just checked the raws, and on page 3 of chapter 322, Killua refers to Alluka as “imouto”, which does mean “younger sister”.
But in 321, he refers to Alluka as “kyoudai”, which gets translated as “brother”, but which can mean both “brother” and “sister”.
Which makes it seem like a regular translation error…..
..If not for Illumi’s threat in chapter 320, where he clearly refers to Alluka as “Otouto”, which means “younger brother”.
So yeah, can’t wait for Togashi to explain this one.
October 28, 2011 at 12:12 pm
Lemme check…
Kalluto uses “niisan” (older brother), when talking about Alluka, not “neesan”(older sis), but he’s maybe not to most informed on the subject anyway.
HxH isn’t exactly short on strong women, but a girl zoldyck would be nice. I’m not too bothered either way. I’m more fascinated by how that power works. Like what kind of “pesterings” can you count on getting when the last guy asked for a computer ?
(and it’s kind of funny that Silva doesn’t mind Milluki trying his luck, but he does worry about Killua…..Still a better dad than Jin )
October 28, 2011 at 1:59 pm
Can you really blame him? Milluki is a useless, sniveling sack of shit and Killua is the future of the family. Right now that panda is a better dad than Ging.
October 29, 2011 at 12:04 am
The whole Milluki just getting a computer seems off to me, I am sure he could have easily bought his own top of the line computer and used his wish to grant himself great power or something along those lines. Other then that the Zoldyck’s just seem to get more and more fucked up as the series goes on o.O
October 29, 2011 at 8:15 am
Yeah, Milluki would have gone for a slightly more buff body than the one he’s stuck with. Maybe the “Rules for talking to Alluka” that Silva mentioned forbid people asking for anything too big. After all, they can’t keep their own kid locked up in the plushie aisle of toys ‘r us without ever talking to her/him, and they can’t do that if she/he keeps asking for their liver and stuff. They have to keep the “pesterings” as do-able as possible.
I guess Killua gets to break that rule. Sucks to be the one who goes next.
And unless Alluka is totally bugshit loonytunes, he/she’s eventually going to simply ask someone to “get me the hell out of here”.
October 29, 2011 at 12:37 pm
@foxy : O-tsukaresama desssssu !
October 29, 2011 at 2:53 pm
The matter of Alluka’s gender is even more confusing with the Mangastream translation. On page 8, in the middle panel, Killua refers to Alluka as “her”, and then Kikyo immediately refers to Alluka as “he”. Oh well, maybe we’ll get an explanation eventually. XD
October 29, 2011 at 3:28 pm
That’s probably the translators going “fuck it, it’s a hermaphrodite”, but let’s look at the raws again :
Younger Kikyoo : “Santsu “onedari” o kikuto ?”
Chibi Killua : “Un. Me ga makkuro ni naru n da”
No gender clues for “me”(eyes), so the translators are just hedging their bets.
