We also take some time to talk about our disappointments with some directorial choices in the anime series so far, namely the censorship and the damage to Killua’s character as it stands 5 episodes in. We talk a bit about some other mature series MADHOUSE has handled lately, namely the Hellsing OVAs (itself a truer to the manga adaptation rather than the TV series like Hunter X Hunter 2011) and mention Black Lagoon in passing.

Glad I’m not the only one who’d like to see Leorio return, a meaner, leaner Nen-machine than he was before. But I also agree that we may have reached our character quota for this arc.
As for my own predictions, I think that one of these two plots (Alluka or Pariston) is going to go horribly wrong. Personally, I think Pariston is going to get the job. There doesn’t seem anything anyone can do about it. (Unless the Panda explodes or something)
As for the Alluka plot-line, I see that spiraling into something bigger. They keep repeating how they have no idea where he “comes from”. Kikyoo’s Hellgate vagina being the obvious but ignored answer, there has to be something else going on, and I’m not sure it’s Nen-related. Whatever it is, Killua knows, and since he’s the only one who calls him “little sister”, it’s going to clear up all this gender crap as well. About time.

You mean you haven’t figured this out yet ?
Think about it : Except for Killua, all the Zoldyck kids have black hair.
Now, who do we know in the HxH universe who has black hair, could easily sneak into Kukuroo mountain, and who’s a total bastard ? 🙂

Well, you guys tend to answer my questions in the show before I’ve thought of them, but yeah, I’ve been wondering…
The reason I’m a fan of HxH is because I always thought it had something unique, something that puts it in a different class from all the other stuff in the same genre.
Maybe it’s the strange mix of characters that still seems to work, the way each new arc is like a whole different show, or how HxH has more strong character moments in a single chapter than most shows in their whole season. I just know I enjoy this show, the manga, and the characters so much more than all the others.
So I was wondering, am I just kidding myself here ? Is Togashi just some hack who writes himself into a corner, and then bullshits himself out of it again ? Are there hundreds of manga out there just as good that I simply haven’t read yet ? Or is it really as unique as I’m convinced it is ?

It’s unique in many ways. For example, I don’t know of any other still running, halfway popular shounen fighting show that never got a movie.

I’m in a sarcastic mood, so I’m going to come right out and ask what you guys think the next thing might be that the new anime people are going to fuck up.
Or just the next thing that’s going to change color. I just remembered that mister Beans used to be pink. Somehow, that was disturbing.
Also, I propose a drinking game for the next new anime episode. Every time Killua smiles, you take a shot of Tequila. See you guys in the hospital. 🙂

Another good episode, I must agree that the censorship has really disappointing so far. While I love the ecosystem, one has to wonder what all these pants and animals do when there are blue hordes of humans to kill. I have a crazy theory regarding killua’s brother who joined the spiders. What if after learning what dancho’s power is he has gone to find him and have dancho steal alluka’s power, assuming that it its nen based of course.
