Watch Episode 29 – Awakening X and X Potential

I don’t even have anything to say.

We started out so well being serious and then accidentally started talking about Hisoka. I’m also sorry Diego continues to sound like a robot.

Episode 30 – Dr. Cookie Monster

Posted in Podcast Episodes with tags , , , , , , on April 30, 2012 by damedrfoxybrown

Iego couldn’t join us for this recording, so we pulled in Funkatron of many different podcasts to join us. If you don’t remember him from his last appearance, he has newly begun keeping up with the series, and so he has a differing, yet interesting perspective to share.

Download Episode 30

Watch Episode 28 – Nen X Nen

Sure, I could see him as my shrink.

Opening Song – Kijutsu Shi no Baire [Hisoka’s Theme]
Insert Song – Sate/Hate (All three songs from Hunter X Hunter 2011 OST)

Episode 29 – Screw Ds.

Posted in Podcast Episodes on April 29, 2012 by damedrfoxybrown

This would’ve been so much easier if Iego’s own personal internet didn’t decide to have him roboting in and out, and my computer wasn’t having a processing breakdown while recording. It required a lot more work than I was in a position to do last week, hence the late arrival of this week’s episode. Mea culpa guys.
You’re probably going to hear a lot of “Yeah” and “Uh Huh” that are totally out of place, but it should be okay (crossing my fingers).

Download Episode 29

Episode 27 – Arrival X at the X Arena

Glad to see he can take a break from his busy schedule on Kamen Rider Fourze to cameo in Hunter X Hunter.

He really is getting around lately.

Songs referenced:

Episode 27 – Rap Battles

Posted in Uncategorized on April 1, 2012 by damedrfoxybrown

Bullet Beast was unfortunately unable to join us due to reasons, so this episode as a result is short and only contains an anime recap for episode 24.

Download Episode 27

Not a Spoiler

Since it's not of any real significance, I'd like to break to you that the above pictured is indeed a Zoldyck son, and not a daughter as you've most likely concluded.

Watch Episode 24 – The X Zoldyck X Family

Yes the Zoldyck theme does include a chorus singing “Zoldyck”.

Opening Song – Seigi no Ikari (Hunter X Hunter Best Collection)
Ending Song – Meimou (Hunter X Hunter 2011 Soundtrack)

Episode 26 – Shark Week

Slander is fun.

Download Episode 26

Don't you love what they've done with the place?

Watch Episode 23 – The X Guards X Duty.

Volume 10 brings up two pseudo psychic abilities with 2/3 of the female members of the Phantom Troupe. Machi seems to have a sense of intuition bordering on an ability to predict the future & Pakunoda’s ability is an example of Psychometry

I’m definitely going to start keeping a running tally of songs we break into.
This episode’s: –

Eve – Who’s that Girl

Dan Hill – Sometimes when we touch

Rick James – Cold Blooded

Staple Singers – I’ll Take you There

Opening Song – Hunter yo Eien Nare! (Hunter X Hunter OST 2011)
Insert Song – End up (Hunter X Hunter Greed Island OST)
Promo Breaks – Sate & Hate (Hunter X Hunter OST 2011)
Promo – The Ass Backwards Anime Podcast blesses you with Doctor’s familiar voice, if a bit younger sounding.
Ending Song – Cold-Blooded (Hunter X Hunter Greed Island OST)

All songs are property of their respective owners.

Episode 25 – Mission Game

Posted in Podcast Episodes on March 19, 2012 by damedrfoxybrown

Diego’s triumphant return to the podcast is more like a whimper, but we don’t judge here at this virtual round table.

Download Episode 25

To be honest, Mass Effect 3 released on March 6th, and despite my reservations, I spent money on it anyway. I was playing directly up to recording time, which was why I’m not participating much in the anime episode discussion. However, Diego and Bullet Beast have been present enough times to be able to handle things on their own (mostly).

Watch Episode 22 – A X Dangerous X Watchdog.

Due to us recording speculation on three chapters last week, there was obviously no chapter left over for us to discuss, and without that we left the Chapter recap dance party to fester until next week as well, as it’s too close to the last time we tried to voice act those chapters to not incur fatigue.

Come this Tuesday, everything will be back to normal.

Opening Song – Koukai (Hunter X Hunter 2011 Soundtrack)
Ending Song – Mission Game (Hunter X Hunter OAV Soundtrack)

Episode 24 – Rumors of Brother Trouble Greatly Exaggerated

Posted in Podcast Episodes with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 12, 2012 by damedrfoxybrown

This episode is a bit late because our Tuesday recording was canceled after Diego took ill this past week. After a period of getting ill, getting worse, dying and being buried on successive days, we decided the show must go on and recorded on Thursday.

Download Episode 24

For a guy getting his arm broken, Illumi is awfully carefree.

Watch Episode 21 – Some X Brother X Trouble.

We make up for our lack of manga theatre by covering Episode 21 and Chapters 337-339 of the manga.

I think the show went quite well despite the lack of Diego, don’t you? And no, not just because I did most of the talking. Bullet Beast did some heavy lifting as well.

Opening Song: Youko Keshi Soshite no Masanami (Version 2) (Hunter X Hunter Original Soundtrack)
Insert Song: Get Funky (Hunter X Hunter 2011 Soundtrack)
Ending Song: Hiiro no Hitomi no Aika (Hunter X Hunter 2011 Soundtrack)

All songs are property of their respective owners.

Episode 23 – Pure Curiosity

Posted in Uncategorized on February 26, 2012 by damedrfoxybrown

Need to comfort yourself after learning that episode 21 won’t air until next week? Maybe this new episode will help? It will only make the longing worse? Oh well.

Download Episode 23-Pure Curiosity Here

Episode 20 – Baffling X Turn of X Events

Now we just need to hire an artist and jump feet first into this untapped corner of the Hunter X Hunter English doujinshi market.

Chapters 87-89 cover more auction hijinks.

Chapter 336 – Cancel: So yeah, everything.

Opening Song: Hashire!
Insert Song: Hate…
Ending Song: Kujiratou Yori
All songs from the Hunter X Hunter 2011 soundtrack.

Episode 22 – Silent Treatment on the Day of Love

Posted in Podcast Episodes with tags , , , , , , on February 19, 2012 by damedrfoxybrown

Hopefully you had a Happy Valentine’s Day, Diego clearly did but the rest of us obviously spent our time recording this episode for you. Enjoy.

Download Episode 22

Episode 19 – Can’t Win X And X Can’t Lose

Gon must have a thing for getting punched.

Volume 10 Chapters 84-86…And that’s why I don’t like Ground beef.

Chapter 335 saw me reading through the chapter while mildly adopting character voices. I don’t know how that happened.
Seeing as we got more random Nanika can just do any old sort of bullshit, and Killua struggles to wuv both sides of his sibling from Chapter 336, clearly our half-hearted predictions for Chapter 335 were way off.

Opening Song: Ambien Tech – Hunter X Hunter Greed Island Soundtrack
Insert Songs: Boys Be Courageous & Koukai – Hunter X Hunter (2011) Soundtrack
Ending Song: Mosa Domo no Heigei – Hunter X Hunter (2011) Soundtrack

All songs are property of their respective owners.

Episode 21 – Famous Last Words

Posted in Podcast Episodes with tags , , , , on February 12, 2012 by damedrfoxybrown

Next week! Next week things will be better, til then you’ll have to suffer through a few minutes of out of sync discussion. I thought I had that sorted but I guess the forces that be find a way.

Download Episode 21
In this recording we discuss episode 18, Chapters 80-83 of volume nine and Chapter 334.

Watch Episode 18 – Big X Time X Interview

I have a coworker who would have the fits if she saw this, and snakes on a plane I guess.

Opening Song: Hisoka’s Theme (2011) – Hunter X Hunter (2011)
Insert Songs: Tamesareru Toki & Heion Na Hibi – Official Hunter X Hunter Soundtracks.
Ending Song: The Maker – Hunter X Hunter Greed Island Soundtrack

The second try at recording episode 20 unfortunately has much less slander and more clanging dishes in the Kitchen next door.

We also finally got around to doing our reading of Chapters 77-79 and discuss chapters 332 & 333

Doctor Michael from the Ass Backwards Anime Podcast, Just a Gintama Podcast & One Podcast Prevails joins us again for our mostly slander-free recording and to voice Phantom Troupe Member Uvogin & Señor Nostrade

Opening Song: Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas – Just Awake
