Spoiler – Diego found out immediately after recording that I was wrong about the discussion of (name redacted)’s fate at the very end of the episode. (Doesn’t surprise me that I’m wrong, I usually am when it comes to remembering).

Gon would not have hooks for hands. He’d have fishing-poles. And yes, that would be awesome.

Say, that “Gripes with Hunter X Hunter” segment took disconcertingly long. Personally, I don’t have any. Unless Togashi pulls a FMA and “Space!” turns out to be Nazi Germany.

  2. The Math/conjurer training stuff is completely canon, most of its in Volume 9 told via flashback during Kurapika’s fight with Uvogin. I think they wanted to put this scene earlier to make the narrative more linear and not break up the action during the Uvogin fight. The 1999 original anime did the same thing.

I loved the 99 Anime, but I am so much more pumped for this arc on this new iteration it isn’t funny. And thanks to the HXH Podcast here I’ll have something to occupy my time till both the anime gets to where I want, and the manga comes back from Hiatus X Hiatus number 12…

    I miss you Togashi 😦

  4. You guys brought up something that I have never thought of, how did Kurapika survive the Spider’s attack on his family.

If you think about it, it doesn’t make sense. The Spider’s is suppose to be ruthless, sadistic killing machines. I think even if they couldn’t get Kurapika eye’s to change color (Which was a great point one of you guys made), they would’ve have still killed him. And unless Kurapika was the only kid of his family, which I doubt, the whole “He was at school when it happened” thing won’t fly either.

Hopefully we’ll get more answers on this later in the manga, or the new movie.

Since the topic of what I hate about HunterXHunter was also brought up, I think I’ll say mines too. But for me it’s a bit of a Love/Hate situation. For me it’s that the sub-genre of HunterXHunter seems to change alot as it goes on. So far it’s been a Cooking, Fighting, Sales (The auction), Gaming, Voting, and who knows what else. At times it can seem like it’s dragging the show, but then you realize you love the show for that.
