Episode 38 – What’s in a Name?

We somehow got distracted by our own Internet handles, and that led into a fun discussion right after the episode started, so of course it’s kept in the final cut.

This episode covers episode 36, the conclusion of the fight between Gon & Hisoka and Volume 12, chapters 113-115 as Kurapika’s vengeance is beginning to magnificently take shape.

The Least Spoilerific picture I could find from this chapter.

  1. Just wanted to say that the “random” guy who appears is Prince Baka from Level E who funnily enough is voiced by Daisuke Namikawa(Hisoka). In the manga it was supposed to be Yoshihiro Togashi but for some reason Madhouse put Prince Baka who in his show is one of the biggest trolls of all time. I guess trolling his own universe isn’t enough 😛

Hey guys, been away, missed a few shows, got some catching up to do.

In the meantime, didya talk about this yet ? :

Looks like you get to play through the first arc.

Hi. I have only been listening to you guys for a while now, and have only been into Hunter x Hunter since the new anime has been airing. After finally becoming interested enough in the series, I was trolled with both out of print manga and anime for its North American releases. I even learned that this was one of the few series that my local library system doesn’t get for some reason as well.

I was wondering if you guys had any specific stories on trying to collect both the manga and anime of Hunter x Hunter and if you could say how much you have collected. Also, you mention a few times during manga recaps that your translations differ. Are you guys using different releases or something?
